Cláudia Silva 22, do (PL), foi reeleita neste domingo (15) prefeita de Monção para os próximos quatro anos. A candidata teve 7.627 votos, o que corresponde a 52,28% dos votos válidos, contra 45,77% de Jesiel Araújo (PC do B). A reeleição leva Cláudia Silva ao segundo mandato como prefeita da cidade de Monção-MA, assim como também elege o vice-prefeito Mario Cardoso do (PV).
A coligação que apoiou a candidatura chama-se “MONÇÃO, PARA FAZER MUITO MAIS.” e foi composta pelo PV / PL / PSDB / PT.
Já o candidato comunista Jesiel Araújo 65 (PCdoB), sofre mais uma derrota, ao todos são cinco derrotas, sendo uma pra vereador em 2000, e quatro derrotas consecutivas para prefeito nos anos de 2008, 2012, 2016 e agora 2020.
Jesiel Araújo (PCdoB) junto com sua vice Deusa da Rita, obteveram 6.677 votos, o que corresponde a 45,77% dos votos válidos.
Já o candidato Dr.glaubert Andrade 14 foi candidato a cargo de prefeito pela primeira vez em Monção pelo (PTB) junto com seu vice-prefeito João Francisco, e obtiveram 284 votos, o que corresponde a 1,95%.
